Description
Bruins need to move Ullmark to give Swayman the net for good. Bussi is ready to make the next step up to the NHL. Moving Ullmark now capitalizes on the Kings goaltending issues, and Rob Blake's need to make a deep run in the playoffs, while also creating '24 cap space. Boston can't throw away this season. These moves are twofold. The Ullmark trade creates cap flexibility for this season and '25, while the other trades bring in controllable pieces for the future.

lol Gudas is not cap that needs moving at all. He’s hands down our best RD and is not available

You also have him on the wrong side. You can trade for Fowler if you want a veteran LD with term

Hilarious you think we want to ‘get rid’ of Gudas’s contract man

We love that dude

This is terrible for BOS.

Should wait until the offseason to move Ullmark, plus that return is pretty underwhelming anyway. ANA is not moving Gudas.

Welcome to CapFriendly. Sometimes, it's not too friendly.

Your geography is a little off. Los Angeles is the SoCal team that needs to "free up cap space in '25 and '26," not Anaheim, who will have more than $34 million in cap space going into the 2024-2025 season without anyone expensive to re-sign. And Radko is a coaches favorite, a team favorite and a fan favorite as well as being the only NHL-qualified RhD we currently have under contract for next season; Derek Forbort would be a useless mouth with Fowler, LaCombe, Minyukov and Zellweger on the left.

The best defenseman on the arguably the league's worst team isnt all that noteworthy. Anaheim is not going to compete in the next year or two, why not free up space and go after someone like Hanifin instead? The RD/LD issue was definitely an oversight...It happens. My fault.

Forbert wouldn't go there to be a piece moving forward. Its an expiring contract, which has value. There may even be another team interested in adding him for a mid-late pick. Anaheim isn't competitive and likely wont be in next year and half. Move the guy for some pieces that are younger and could play down the line or be traded to a team for another player.

A top D prospect, middle 6 RFA center and a second is likely the best Boston will do now or in the offseason. You aren't getting more for a 30 year old goalie @ $5 with one year left. Anaheim should be listening to offers on anyone based on their consistently poor play.

And Calgary loved Tanev. Poor play forces GM's to trade beloved players.

How in the world is an expiring contract at a position where there isn't a roster slot a "value" to Anaheim?!? And if there's another team that "may" be "interested in adding him for a mid-late pick," then you can go find that team yourself.

There is absolutely no reason for us to trade Gudas laugh laugh laugh

Verbeek has also said he isn’t trading him so we are all good

Performance
Ahh the classic “I want to trade for this guy, but he’s not actually very good argument”. He’s nearly even in corsi and fenwick despite playing for ANA and starting over 60% of shifts in the D zone. He blocks shots like crazy, delivers a ton of hits, and can rip it over 100mph. He plays great hockey for us and we need more like him. I don’t blame you for not watching ANA, we suck and it’s hard to watch even as a fan. But Gudas has absolutely been an exception to that.

ANA needs him
The fact that we won’t compete for the cup in the next 2 years doesn’t mean you trade away every player that will expire before then at the first chance you get. If so, we’d have like 9 guys left on our roster and nobody to show them the ropes.
It isn’t chel. Veterans help develop young talent on the ice (Gudas has been paired with a rookie LD all year long), in the locker room, and outside the rink. In fact im all for adding another vet RD addition to keep mentoring our young LD. As a Bruins fan you guys know better than most. The winning culture your vets have set the tone for is insane

Other FAs:
The Ducks aren’t cap constrained at all. Gudas isn’t stopping us from signing anyone, and like I said he’s our only RD next year, so he also isn’t an obstacle in the lineup either. Hanifin is another LD, so not of interest. But I’d love to see us go for Pesce this offseason, which we can do while keeping Gudas without any issue. Even with Gudas, we should be targeting a player like him in FA, without him we just open up another hole to fill

This return isn’t even mildly interesting:
That title speaks for itself. We want/need none of this. 2 players at our deepest position so they’ll never see the ice and a 4C which we have 2 of already.. for our best Dman..

I’ve made many a bad trade offer on this platform as well. It’s part of the fun. Just sharing feedback. This makes absolutely zero sense for ANA. Good luck to your Bruins

Small difference.. Notice how they waited until the last year of his deal? Not months after they signed him to a multi-year contract to fill a desperate need?
