Lindgren is not for sale, especially for non-roster bums... we aren't rebuilding haha.

Hayes trade could work.

Flyers decline, Frost is their only true offensive C in the entire organization and it'd probably take a big overpay to grab him (on a really good contract too)

Futures for Buch. Canes aren’t moving roster players for him.

What my hot take fellow Canes fan means is that Necas’s current situation is better than Buch. 25 year old RFA who will likely be with the next team he signs with for a long time is a better situation than someone his next team for 1.25 years.

Same production while being 5 years younger and cost controlled.

He’s yet to be a PPG player. Buch has 191 points in 194 games as a Blue the last 3 seasons. Necas has 154 points in 216 games the last 3 seasons. They are not close from a production standpoint. Put the bottle down man

Necas had 71 points last year, that's actually more than Buch had... stop it. Buchnevich's career high is 76, and Necas is already showing that he'll challenge that. With Buch's injury concerns, no reason to trade the more productive and younger player. You keep Buchnevich if the ask is Necas because no one is giving you a younger, more productive player for him!

Buch had an injury last year, but I wouldn't say he is a player with Injury concerns. Also that said just because Necas had more raw points by virtue of playing more games probably doesnt make him a more productive player. Necas has never had a PPG season in his life and isn't nearly as good defensively as Buch. Buch has been PPG for all three seasons with the Blues and plays an all-around more impactful 200 ft game than Necas.

You can argue that for contract reasons you would rather keep Necas and I get that, but I don't know how you can pretend that Necas is a better player than Buch in a vacuum.

Buch and Necas are both fine defensively. Not great but not bad. Necas is the better player. He's outscoring Buch, he's 5 years younger, cheaper, and better. Buch has 1 70 point season. Hard to call him a PPG winger when he's only come close once to the 82 point mark. Necas is hands down the better player, arguing against that right now is pure bias.

You say that like it should just be taken as a fact.
1. Buch is among the best defensive wingers in the League. Necas barely plays PK minutes.
2. Name one season ever that Necas had a higher PPG than Buch
3. He is actually only 3 years younger
4. He isn't going to be cheaper soon, especially if Buch were acquired at retention.
5. Necas has had one 70 point season and regardless of games played Buch is PPG player and Necas has never reached PPG no matter how you spin
6. You are last person I want to hear about Bias from.

Buch is good, but he's not close to Stone etc defensively. PK doesn't mean good defensively either, there's a STONG difference between 5v5 defense and 4v5 defense. Nino Niederreiter is among the strongest defensive wingers in the league and doesn't play PK.

Necas outscored Buch last season. I don't care about PPG because you're never going to get a full 82 from Buchnevich, his injury problems are a major concern. Necas has outproduced him last year and very is on pace to do it again this year.

Buchnevich is 29, Necas is 25. It's 4 years

Buchnevich will be cheaper for a single season. Then, he's going to either walk away, or want a drastic overpayment. Not worth it, Necas will be cheaper in the long run.

PPG doesn't matter with a player that never plays 82 games. Necas outproduced him last year, and will probably do it again this year.

You are being bias. Stop. Necas is the better player, he's cost controlled, and is simply the more desirable asset. Don't like it? Keep Buchnevich because he's not worth Necas.

He'll turn 29 before the end of the season, Necas turned 25 in January. There's 4 years between them, learn to count.
