I can agree with the title, but splitting up the only line clicking 5 on 5 isn't really the answer. Although in the past, I've really liked Trocheck and Kreider. I could only support this if that line were to go cold at some point.

I agree that we need to split up Mika and Kreider, however I dont do it at the detriment of the only line that is actually producing. There have been multiple instances of Panarin playing with Kreider and Mika where absolutely nothing occurred. Furthermore, the way the team is currently constructed, there is no center to play with Kreider. Splitting them up with the current roster feels more like a punishment to Kreider than something that is inspirational.

I'd think more on the lines of
Panarin - Trocheck - Lafrenière
Cuylle -Zibanejad - Kakko
Kreider -Brodzinski - Vesey
Edstrom - Goodrow - Rempe

No it isn't, it's just time to get them a RW.

The fact that Mika has 1 5v5 goal in 2024 means that the issue runs far deeper than just a RW... Kreider is not a 5v5 player, he makes his living on the PP... Kaapo is a very solid RW, but he is not a line driving player he is a glue piece that anchors down a line...

Well, I disagree. Mika isn't having his best year but he is too good a player not to rebound. In a down year he still has 54 points in 60 games and is a +16. Kreider has only been more productive as he ages and this year he is nearly a point a game player with 30 goals and counting and is a +22. They both have very good corsi and fenwicks, as usual. They just need a 1RW and some time to gel and they will be fine.

Let them gel with Kakko then, they dont score a ton but they let up absolutely nothing...how many assets have they wasted already trying to recreate their magic with Buchnevich?

Kakko-Kreider-Mika past 3 years at 5v5 687 minutes 55% corsi for 56% expected goals for 63% goals for (24 goals for - 14 goals against)

I agree with this take, but I feel that Mika being the "1C" for NY has to score more than 1 goal 5v5 in 2024...
