Interesting deal with EDM, you may need to retain on a couple of those contracts though. Not sure they're willing to move Holloway, unless the retention is good enough.

Yeah that's a good point. Definitely wouldn't be an issue for the Caps to retain

it seems like term is king these days. If Tanev had was a year and a half, he definitely would've gotten a first and then some. Three playoff runs of Jensen should fetch a first

would need 50% retained salary to get a first and even then i'm not sure Toronto does it

Can't say i watch him too much, but he's 33 his numbers don't seem great this year and he's making a 4 million cap hit. Don't get me wrong i think he's a solid dman but normally if a dman like that with term is gonna get a first they are younger like jake mccabe, or they have more impressive stats.

He did have a really bad first third of the season but he's generally been pretty good since. I agree that he wouldn't fetch a first on his own. If toronto had a second round pick, I'd personally want a second and a third, similar to the Tanev deal.

I feel like they hold onto Aube-Kubel. Seems like the org likes him and if they're dead set on trading Dowd (which I expect they will be), keeping NAK with Malenstyn could help acclimate someone like Frank to the NHL faster with 2 capable 4th liners on his wing.
