Initial Creation Date: Mar. 3, 2024
Published: Mar. 3, 2024

Description
This also includes 2024 draft

The Rangers are reportedly closing in on a deal for both Vatrano, & Henrique. With an estimated value of a 1st, 2nd and 2nd round prospect with both having 50% retention. I'd say that is fair but lemme know. Sabres retain another 50% therefore getting a 3rd.

Carrick is equivalent to a hard working bottom 6 player and is great depth for any team. Florida is in need of forward depth and would love another grindy player for their 4th line. Plus I don't think he fits in this lineup.

Anaheim gets the 3rd and 30th pick in the draft. With their 3rd overall pick they select Demidov and with their 30th pick select Pulkkinen.

Gauthier is signed on draft day 1.

Maybe i'm wrong but, if your gonna retain that much i feel like you could get a little more in that rags deal.

Carrick fits nicely into that lineup next season when Jakob Silfverberg retires. And with 7 picks ahead of that Florida fourth right now (no matter what the NY deal brings), I'd rather just keep him. He's a good penalty killer and is over 50% on face-offs.

It’s not like Sykora is a scrub lol they probably both have the same value, but rangers should be keeping Berard

They CLEARLY dont have the same value if you insist that they trade Sykora instead of Berard.

Because the Rangers know their prospects better than an outsider looking into the organization

Look, you expect to give up nothing for a guy who's probably gonna have 30 goals before the trade deadline and a veteran 2-way center whos having a solid year... On top of the fact that you want the Ducks to retain money in the deal.

I mean I don’t want neither of them lol. Vatrano is wildly overrated and won’t produce like that on the rangers. Henrique would be a fine 3C that I wouldn’t pay premium assets for

Yeah Anaheim isn’t trading Frank and Rico for that and we might as well just keep Sammy and resign him

Seeing Leo at 3C is WILD

    Henrique is worth a 1st (see Monahan/Lindholm)

So that means Vatrano, our leading scorer on nearly a 40 goal pace on a favorable $3.6M deal with another year left retained at 50% on top of that is worth.. a 2nd and a former 5th rounder in the AHL?

If they're willing to retain that much, they could probably do better by trading Henrique and Vatrano separately.

Retention on Henrique is worth approximately a late 3rd. Retention on Vatrano approximately a mid 2nd. Retention on both is worth about the 42nd pick. As players, Henrique is arguably worth a 1st/2nd and Vatrano probably a 2nd/3rd. A 1st, 2nd and B-tier prospect isn't far off.
