Players i would target

Created by: Capitalfail67
Team: 2023-24 Washington Capitals
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 4, 2024
Published: Mar. 4, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
1.
WSH
  1. Liljegren, Timothy
Additional Details:
Mainly just a blueprint but Jensen at 2m help the Leafs cap situation + add a solid puck moving Vet.
TOR
  1. Jensen, Nick ($2,000,000 retained)
2.
WSH
  1. Goodrow, Barclay
  2. Perreault, Gabe [Reserve List]
Additional Details:
This trade is also a blueprint and will likely go bad for even suggesting it but here we go

Mantha 50% = 1st / 2nd + prospect
Dowd = 1st / 2nd + prospect
Dumping Goodrow = 1st / 2nd

values are different suggested values on this site
NYR
  1. Dowd, Nic
  2. Mantha, Anthony ($2,850,000 retained)
Additional Details:
my though is this is a creative way for the Rangers to keep their 1st while obtaining players the need to fill needs in their current roster. if they still need a bottom 6 center the can trade their 2nd for Wennberg whatever
3.
WSH
  1. Kaliyev, Arthur
  2. 2025 3rd round pick (LAK)
Additional Details:
I want Clarke but im not dumb enough to think we have a prospect good enough to get him besides maybe Leonard

Kaliyev = 2nd / 3rd in value? inconsistent but good when hes on.

Lindgren = 2nd imo could argue less could argue more (crazy people)

Edmundson = 3rd based off Leafs trade
4.
WSH
  1. 2024 3rd round pick (CAR)
Additional Details:
Could be a 4th hardly matters at this point. just get positive value for him

ideally we could snag a prospect like Suzuki but unlikely
5.
WSH
  1. Heinola, Ville
Additional Details:
Jets fans are tough on this site and likely will hate this but here we go... (not hating just saying)
WPG
  1. van Riemsdyk, Trevor ($1,500,000 retained)
Additional Details:
TVR can play both sides well. He's signed for another 2 years and his hit will only be 1.5m
6.

TVR is playing to pairing atm and hes not a 7/8 dman lol WTF are you watching?

It doesn't matter where he's playing on a bad team, in Winnipeg he's behind Morrissey, DeMelo, Dillon, Pionk, Samberg and Schmidt, so he's fighting with Stanley for ice time.

Panarin has high level skill. He is an elite skill player. lol wtf do you mean>? like saying Perreault is like Backstrom bc he's slow.... lol what? He's going to be good but you should watch a highlight or a game so you understand how he actually plays

I’ve watched him play at all levels and mostly the WJC lol

But right Perreault doesn’t have elite skill or anything, he’ll just be average. I guess his vision/passing and high level IQ mean nothing

Dont they have Topi? or i forget that prospects name. He should be NHL ready? would they move him instead?

he's progressing fine in the AHL but is probably a year or so away from NHL time and they'd probably move him over Liljegren pretty readily

It's too bad that draft theory was debunked the week it came out by the Rangers' beat. I bet Caps fans also didn't think Forsberg was gonna be Forsberg good either lmao. Lastly, they're not using a high end prospect to dump Goodrow lmao. He can be bought out if they really want come June without major repercussions.

bro you guys trade Buch for a 2nd LMFAO. how bout J.T Miller? You get a lot for him>? but yeah teams trying to win the cup make risky trades to get better not a hard concept to understand unless you are dumb AF

You watched him at all level? lol OKAY then why didnt he go above Smith and Leonard in the draft? OBVIOUSLY he had a ton of HIGH END SKILL? GTFOH you watched him play lol

Unless that guy is untouchable, which every NYR source has reported is the case lmao. Plenty of other assets and plenty of other teams to trade with. You're not getting Perreault, nobody is right now.

So one last time for you, since it isn't sinking in.

THEY ARE NOT USING THEIR TOP PROSPECT TO DUMP GOODROW

Because GM’s are dumb and avoided him because he’s “under sized and slow” lol His career trajectory is definitely better than a 4C and a streaky middle 6 winger that you’re offering

You’re trying to lower his value by saying he is just decent, yet you’re trading for him? Might as well just offer a 3rd round pick for him

So why did they draft Benson over him? lol Im offering the equivalent / what could end up being multiple 1st / 2nd for him. i even broke it down in the description box. so hard to read huh?

Im simply saying he's a good / great prospect but you are saying he's better than guys like Othmann and saying you watched him play his entire career lol. I see him more of a Guentzel / Kunitz who can help elite players while they help him. He's not a elite player driver that will carry his own line. He's not a physical player and he doesnt have an elite level shot. His game will struggle to transition to the NHL level imo for those reasons. If Rangers have an elite level center like Penguins did for Guentzel youll see a more rapid development

Othmann is a middle 6 winger in my opinion and relies heavily on the powerplay. Perreault has more upside than othmann but they both play different styles

Either way, the rangers have 0 right wingers and not trading their only 1 to cap dump and some old vets/rentals lol
