Only way Colorado does this is if the Pens take Ryjo and even then I think it's a bad idea to just blow your whole future for two years

It's Crosby at 4.3 million with term.

Come on

Nonsense.

You'll end up trading probably 2 of those picks anyways for rentals far less accomplished than Crosby.

No need for JG, taking on that cap even with retention is an issue, and they aren't selling the farm to do it. The Avs decline in a heartbeat.

It's also like 6 first round picks. Love Crosby, love Guentzel but that would be among the highest prices ever paid for a player and it would be a 36 year old Crosby. Quality is one thing but this is an unreal price

It's not 6 first round picks of course

Crosby is playing 20 mins a night, over a ppg.

It's darn close. 3 actual 1sts + Ritchie + Gulyayev (both 1st rounders who have increased their value since being drafted) = 5 firsts. Then you have all the rest on top.

And Behrens 2nd round pick and Olaousson former 1st round pick. Both aren't worth their draft position anymore but I'd still say combined is a 1st for sure

Definitely agree that Olausson's value has dropped. Behrens has probably maintained his worth. Kovalenko has certainly exceeded his draft spot and should be worth a fair amount now that he's under contract.

Regardless of what those three combined are in terms of picks, it's a monster price.

Honestly, if Crosby to Colorado were to happen (I don't think it will), I would expect the price to be a lot lower than what his actual value is. I assume he'd be flexing his NMC heavily, and that Pittsburgh would first and foremost look to do right by him. They'd get some good assets but not full value.

All that said, I'm not gonna think too much about it until there's an actual reason to do so. He's not moving by the tdl, so we have all offseason for these.

Do Pens fans forget Sakic is still a head honcho? As much as theyd love those guys, the Avs arent cleaning their future out for the sake to make this happen. Sakic and McF add your number to call forwarding to the local Dominoes.
