It makes no sense to move Necas for Buchnevich. Buch is certainly a better systematic fit, but considering age, contract status, and overall offense, it simply isn’t worth it for the Canes.

Buch has another year on his contract at 5.8 million. Necas, while I like him, is going to command 7 to 8 million and that will be in arbitration he will be awarded around 6 to 7 million and the following year he will demand 8 to 10 million. Buch on the other hand will have a salary 4.2 million there about and won’t command as much on an extension giving the canes more flexibility with the cap.

What I don’t like about the deal is Lindholm, the Canes don’t want him back. He and Rod never got along and he will not work in the Brind’Amour system
