Description
Why do I feel like they're not done yet?

Initially I didn't think they were gonna go get another D. In a way they did, but JJ is still your 6th guy. Now though, I still don't think they will get another D. We have Jones and Malinski who is an easy call up.

Our forward core is done. It has to be at this point.

Goalies, idk. Maybe a Martin Jones or other washed veteran that's not Jake Allen.

We're pretty close to done though if we're not already.

$3M in cap space tho!

Trenin has less than 150 faceoffs at the NHL level across 5 seasons — I highly doubt he’s playing 4C for COL. He’s a winger.

Pleasantly surprised. However I think rolling with Georgie and Annunen might be a risk.

I have to think G and/or D depth yet. D is probably least likely as Malinski and Jones have done well coming up. Georgiev has been playing relatively well, but his tendency to let the first or second shot of the game in for a goal has to get cleaned up in the playoffs. Annunen has looked solid, but do you roll with him/Prosvetov. There is cap space. Might as well use it.

Idk man. Sounds like they're gonna try him there anyway

Would be risky.

40.1% career faceoff percentage and only played LW at the NHL level— not sure if he ever played center in the AHL.

C's don't have to take faceoffs; they can always have someone else take them. But they might slide Cogs over to C since he has played there as a pro.

I feel like if they thought Cogs was a face-off option they would've tried him there by now

While true, he’s never played the center role on NHL ice and would not be used to the added responsibility as well as where to be on the ice. More than just faceoffs involved in the center role, and he’s unfamiliar with all of it.

He did. I was listening to a podcast with a former scout and he played C on nashvilles AHL affiliate. It’s certainly risky but I think that’s probably what we end up doing
