Kuzy is one of the most toxic contracts in the league and we paid to even take 50% of it. and he has another year. It can be a lot worse than meh

I agree. Would've liked it a lot better if Washington had given us a 3rd to take half his contract. The good news is Orlov is his best friend and we have Svech and Kochetkov too. Plus he has experience with Rod, Aho, and Guentzel from the all star game two years ago. He now has plenty of motivation to be the player he once was since apparently he didn't have any before.

Yea i'm a little more critical about the Kuzy trade now that I'm seeing how little Hertl pulled. Not bc of what we gave up, but just the risk that it is. Would've rather paid up for the more long term security of Hertl. But the Guentzel trade was a steal and it'll look even better if we're successful in re-signing him.
