Description
Don’t like moving batherson but I can’t see the sens getting any value right now for Norris so I’d switch him to the wing and hope that he can stay healthy and get back to what he can be. Return for batherson isn’t great but I think it’s a type of return that could help them. I find chabot and chychrun to be very similar players therefore to save some cap I’ve opted to sell low on chabot because he’s a harder contract to move out even though when he’s healthy he’s worth his 8m. Then went out and signed some skilled veterans that fill ottawas needs in my eyes. I tried to be the least delusional as possible with my trades. Maybe I’m way off.

no chance OTT trade a 26 YOp top 4 dman for a 33yo 4th liner and a 2nd

no chance OTT trades a 25 YO top 6 RW for a 32 YO 3rd line player.

these 2 trades are atrociously bad for OTT.

Chabots contract depreciates his value.
Batherson is a tough one. Was more looking at it in the light that Coleman has two Stanley cup runs under his belt and still put up decent numbers this year. I think he would be exactly the type of player ottawa is looking for. Maybe more picks or prospects come ottawas way but because of the retention I didn’t add any.

Bath is not for sale he is OTT ONLY top 6 RW under 37 YO. you NEVER EVER trade for a guy when he is having a career year after have years of mediocracy.

Chabot is still a top 4 Dman, he has FAR more value than a 2nd and a 4th line guy....

these 2 trade make this team so much more worst

How much worse can they get? They can’t keep just running it back. Major changes are coming and I don’t see them being able to trade Norris

ya trading your only top 6 RW under 37 for a 32 yo LW 3rd liner is sooo going to make this team so much better....

and trading a 26 yo top 4 dman, even if he is often injured, for a 33yo 4th liner will certainly make this team a playoff team....

No chance Calgary does that not even without the retention. Coleman has more goals and more points than Batherson this year. On top of which Coleman is a much grittier far better two way player who is hard to play against and an important veteran leader for Calgary too.

Flames might be interested in Kastelic for a late pick or Walker Duehr, but they’re certainly not retaining on Coleman AND sending a 2nd for Batherson

I don’t think they’d even Trade Coleman for Batherson straight up. Batherson can score, but I don’t know that he can defend very well, whereas Coleman does it all

Exactly! The only thing Batherson has on Coleman is age.
