Description
Kovalenko is on the way. Torpedo's season ended this morning as they fell 3-0 to SKA in game 5. That said, I'd imagine he'll be here within the week. Don't take my word for it though, I'm no insider 😉

Excited to bring him in but, given all the acquisitions, I wonder how much playing time he gets. Certainly they'll give him some time to acclimate to the team and the NA game but there is limited space. However, since LOC is hurt and Parise looked like he might have gotten hurt in the Wings game, he could slot in on the bottom six for now. But, unless he shows a lot or someone else falters or gets injured, I wouldn't expect him to play a lot in the playoffs.

ETA: looks like he got hurt in that last game so we'll see if he can even play

Yeah we'll see. I for one am really high on him (probably higher than I should be tbh), and am super excited to get him here. I'd imagine they would try him at 4C at least a few times. We'll see though. He's definitely a bottom 6 forward and if all goes well will push guys like Cogs, Duhaime, and maybe even Wood.

I would have been plenty content without Duhaime, especially at the cost of a 3rd.

Depth is super important and becomes an even bigger deal this time of year when guys start to get worn down and injuries crop up. Sometimes, you just need a spark from a different look or someone that is champing at the bit to get in a playoff game. Since they don't have anything in the system they trust to bring in, it makes sense for them to have brought in more guys.

I can agree with not liking the price but I do like his speed and jam.

I mean, it's a 3rd way out. It's value is pretty much this year's 4th (Maybe this year's 5th). But I do get it. Would you have been better off if it was this year's 4th?

It was only 1 game but I liked duhaime more than trenin

True, but its going to suck with a cogliano, duhaime, trenin, kovalenko or parise in the pressbox

Can never have too much depth. But given experience I could kovalenko and duhaime in press box when playoffs start barring no injuries unless kovalenko really wows the staff until playoff time.

Hopefully bednar won't keep switching lines that way they can get some chemistry going
