No way does NJ think this plan of Allen and Kahkonen is actually going to work. When they crash and burn, I bet they get desperate

Bahl isn’t good enough to hold off Lohrei and isn’t a fit opposite Carlo or Peeke.

I think NJ is going after Markstrom.

Bluster happens here. I would assume you would try to move players off of LTIR to pay off bonuses.

We should have about 3 mill running a 22 man roster once bastian comes back. Should get us about 1 mill. And I think we've already accrued 600k from early in the year. So should have about 1 mill in overages.

I don't get that, Markstrom is older, more expensive, controls his own fate, but has 1 more year of his contract. How does he get more interest than Ullmark?

And I think Lohrei projects better as a pure offensive defenseman and can pull easier matchups on the 3rd pairing. And Bahl and Carlo would be one of the hardest defense first pairings in the league.

To be blunt, I think we acquired our version of Bahl with the Peeke acquisition. I’d rather sign Alec Martinez to a one year deal than trade assets for a player NJD should value more for his immediacy of impact

I think this plan only works if we keep Ullmark though. If we keep the 2 stud goalie system for 1 more year, we should bring in vets and pay premiums for short deals, but if we're pivoting away from that, we should be focusing on long term adds that will let us compete for the next 4-5 years of Pasta's and McAvoy's primes

Disagree. One acquisition needs to be a high dollar player ideally a center.

Lindholm isn't worth 7-8 million. Id rather sign a winger or LD for that money and save for Draisatil

Draisatl is never making it to free agency.

Is there a forward you have in mind? This is our opportunity to get a core star player. Lindholm is a risk, but my feel is Sweeney believes in what he’s going to be in between Pasta and Zacha.

I'm sure he'd be fine, I just don't think he'd be worth the 8 million. If it's shorter term, I'd be up for it, though I wish they'd get a guy who can really make Pasta better instead of trying to replace Bergeron. There's just more offensive Cs available next summer (Drai, Sherangovich, Tavares, Bennet, Bjugstad, Nelson).

This summer, I like adding Reinhart, that'd sure up the R side and we'd be more likely to package Lysell and move him. Hanafin, Skjei, and OEL are all worth signing for the top 4 on D. I also think Duchene, Sprong, Marchessault, and Terevainen all could be good adds to the top 6 whether we resign DeBrusk or not.

There is a lot of flexibility there, but the one player we know that Sweeney was in on was Lindholm with both Calgary and Vancouver. Friedman did say Boston would likely revisit Lindholm if available in free agency and I think it is pretty likely he gets there

If Boston resigns DeBrusk,I will likely look at things differently
