It is simultaneously too much going to nashville and too little of interest.

Never should have signed Palat in the first place.

Setting aside Nash’s desire to trade him, the comps suggest a lottery pick and either Holtz or Casey gets it done. If neither of those prospects fit a future need, what does?

Nashville needs a center or a rhd like casey. We have alot of wing prospects and alot of current dmen. A young developing rhd dmen that doesnt require waivers with high upside that can form a future core with Molendyk would be of interest. The lottery first could hopefully solve the center issue since those dont typically get traded

I wish Fitz could trade him or buy him out. He has done nothing

What comps suggest paying that much?

Massive overpay for Saros, massive underpay on the guentzel contract, absolutely no reason to give away lazar for that

I was using Schneider as a basis since I didn't dig enough to find when another top-12 pick was traded for a goalie.
The prospect addition covers my personal belief that Saros is better than Schneider at the time of both of their respective trades.

Schneider was younger, and imo better. Saros has been average this year.

Schneider in the 3 years prior to his trade was 1st in GAA, 1st in save%, 2nd in GSAx

Fair points - and I think we've messaged about this before on here.
Saros' age is definitely a factor for consideration, but the positive is that you've got a little more data (roughly 3X the number of games) than Scheids had at the time of the deal.

Fair, but clearly NJD was right about Schneider because he was top tier in NJD as well. No guarantees of that with a much older Saros

I'd rather get a cheap goalie in free agency than pay a haul for a Saaros or Markstrom. I wouldn't even trade for Ulmark because of wear and tear.

This is the point. We get stay at home defense to mask our youth, we can fix the goal tending and give our goalies confidence. Ya'll referenced Cory before. Cory could stand on his head and help out most nights when he would get shelled. Our goalies now aren't Schneider. They need a bigger, meaner D. Luke needs to stop scoring and start playing D. Him and Nemec

Siegs is much better defensively than Gryz. there is no reason to give away siegenthaler
