I think they have a maximum of buyout contracts and it's less than that......

Not a chance Whitecloud or any dman potentially moved is for free. Assets will be recuperated

Oh no don't get me wrong Laughton is worth a first by himself. And putting up better numbers than essentially any non-Panarin forward recently, so he's no bum. A third is to get rid of Goodrow. Stanley Cup teams shouldn't be using their buyouts but maybe that's how they roll over in New York. Might explain the lack of success even with a dominant core -- not willing to make sacrifices to win

What leverage does Vegas have? They might get a late-round pick but cap space is scarce. No rebuilder wants that four-year deal, no contender can afford it. Flyers are sort of one of a kind. They'd be willing to make that sacrifice i think

This is a discount just so we're clear. Like a massive discount. IRL the Rangers would be giving up a first and more without Goodrow, this is just doing them a favor. He has better stats than major stars since Feb. 1, haha. They could buy out Goodrow but Laughton would be a massive add for them. I'll make the change

I mean that’s great but the season didn’t start Feb 1st lol they have chytil for 3C and if not him, they can sign a free agent without losing draft picks

They got a third for Nate Schmidt with the same term and more than double the cap hit. Acting like his deal is bad and they'll have to beg someone to take him for free is hilarious

Lmao what have the flyers done recently that makes you qualified to know how to get it done?

Since Feb 1st, Laughton has 7 points in 16 games at 5v5, tied for like 80th. Wow super impressive and some star you have

I don’t think there is a limit for buyouts. Its already a self inflicted penalty. There is a limit of 3 salary retention slots.

If Scott is that good why trade him? your not a bottom feeding team. I mean your selling him as that good. Doesn't make sense...

Goodrow is a beast physically & defensively and more useful for us. If we need his cap next year, it wouldn't be for going sideways. Laughton is not worth a 1st or he'd be long gone lol

You could retain half on Johansen and would still need to pay a nice asset for Minnesota to be willing to accept a trade for him.
