You would have a street in Calgary named after you if you did this

Have to get Crosby and FSG to approve first. Huberdeau deal would almost definitely be regrettable shortly. Maybe in season one.

Yes you will. Not even your picks!

Nothing there that hurts at all to lose

Nothing that hurts is true but still not a price that's worth it. He will be 37 and will likely dictate which team he goes to and leave Pitt at that teams mercy

What no pld for good measure, stay the course, bargain hunt your vets and time out some bad contracts and keep building with kids and picks. Taking time but going to come together in not so distant future, no need to overspend or add debacle contracts to delay or derail build.

The pens aren’t moving Sid. And they definitely aren’t when they’re going to be giving SJ their pick next year after the 2024 pick condition kicks in with top 10 protection

Calgary is currently barely above the cap floor as it stands right now for next season and may be moving out Markstrom this summer at the least. Plus Huberdeau has played well since the start of the new year. We aren't desperate to get rid of him

Fenway Sports Group. They collect sports franchises like Pokemon.

Are you serious - Kent Hughes would be immediately fired if he tried to make this trade

Ok? Huberdeau is overpaid but he is still playing at an 8-9M caliber of play, at least since the new year. Andersson is also overpaid. He is making 5.5M and playing at the value of a 1-3M caliber player.

Again, Calgary still needs to reach the cap floor next year. The Floor is projected to be 64.75M and Calgary currently has 66.726M under contract for next season with 20 players currently under contract. There is a very legitimate chance that Calgary trades out Markstrom's 6M cap hit this summer too (maybe with some retention but not more than 25%). That would put them under the cap floor with only Pelletier, Okhotiuk, Kylington, and Wolf to sign. Trading Huberdeau for Anderson would put them another 5M under. Just because you think it's a bad trade for the Habs does not make it a good trade for Calgary
