Yeah Flyers would accept this, if they have CBJ 2nd for this year, though CBJ probably want to use it themselves, and give -25 2nd to Philly instead.

Cates is a 4th liner, this his value ina mid round pick, don't mater how much you like the guy teams not forking over 2nds or good prospect s for 4th liners.

MAXENCE GUÉNETTE is OTT best RD prospects and looks like so far to have similar trajectory as Matt Roy, if the RD player/prospect going to OTT in a chych trade not better OTT declines

my thinking is york and sanheim are very similar versions to chychrun, good 3D's and borderline 2D's and i see little reason to give up the perfect 3rd liner for a 3rd version of what we already have

I mean we probably would get a bit more, but I don’t think that much. Cates would fit great in the bottom 6 and PK, and recouping a 1st (likely late yes so maybe add a 3rd or another prospect) would be ideal. Ottawa got Chychrun when he had 3 years left on his deal, teams aren’t acquiring that, they only get 1 year. The value isn’t going to be the same. And to be fair, we’re finishing bottom 8 with him anyway, not much more losing we could do.

the team getting chych will be to re-sign him, he wont be a rental, and for OTT to trade chych to phily the ask would be Bonk++ or no chych to phily, OTT can and will re-sign him if they cannot get what they want or need
