I like these moves. I hope we buy out Petry. Not sure Mazur makes it right away but I like that better than one year signings on old guys who peter out by March. Matt Roy seems like a must sign for Stevie

I think Holl is the obvious buyout candidate. Copp is a darkhorse candidate if Danielson or Kasper show some significant improvement. Petry falls off after this year, costs next to nothing and he's good insurance on the back end.

I doubt Mazur is ready but you never know. Unfortunately I doubt even Soderblom is ready (or ever will be).

I don't see one season of Robby Fabbri at $4 million as high on Anaheim's wish list. Trevor Zegras and Frankie Vatrano at LW this season (and Zegras and Cutter Gauthier there afterwards) makes Fabbri a third-liner.

Fabbri is a third liner, and paid as such. Can also play either LW or RW.

When healthy he is a quality forward. If Anaheim won't give up a pick someone else likely will.

What team pays $4 million for a third-liner?!?

Most contending teams have only 4 or 5 forwards with cap hits that high. Division leaders like Vancouver, Edmonton, Vegas, Winnipeg, Colorado, Dallas, Rangers, Carolina, Florida and Boston don't have $4 million third-liners (unless you consider that Carolina's acquisition of Evgeni Kuznetsov bumps Jesperi Kotkaniemi down to the third line). Only Los Angeles has a third-liner that expensive. And that's without even raising the issue of his durability: even if he plays in every game remaining this season, Fabbri's first season is the only one in which he played 70 games.

A lot of those teams have guys making way under $4M playing in the top 6 too...

Fabbri can easily play in the top 6 and move around any lineup.

You can argue value, but Vegas is going to have to offload some of their lower cost guys if they are going to sign Hanifin (which they will) and bring back March or Stephenson. I expect them to move out at least one of Hague/Whitecloud/Roy to make room.
