I really don't think this is true at all. Quinn was consistently mocked in the 10-12 range that year. I have a hard time believing they would've passed on Holtz at 8 if he was there.

Pierre Mcguire and others talked about it ad nausem before either player was picked. It was discussed heavily on Sabres Twitter for days
