So you would rather keep a bottom 6 forward who’s one of the worst contracts in the league and is a major cap dump rather than trade him and a 3rd round pick for a bonafide top 4 dman who instantly becomes your best dman? That deal favours Montreal by an insane amount. Even if you don’t want Brodin because of how many LHD you have you can easily flip him for a much bigger return. Minnesota would block your number

Canes have no interest in Savard. If you want the Canes to take him, you can a 1st to dump him.

Congrats!! That Brodin trade is the worst trade I’ve seen here in months!

Just out of curiosity, aren't power forwards supposed to outscore defensemen?

Brodin has 33% more points in 20% fewer games than Anderson, and he's better defensively than any Habs blueliner including Matheson.

So you would rather have a bad NHL player than a very good NHL player?

If you rejected a trade where you’re trading away Josh Anderson and a 3rd round pick for Jonas Brodin you’d be removed from job for negligence.

The problem isn't his contract or capabilities, the biggest issue is he isn't healthy and may never be the same after his recovery.

I don't think Momtreal would or should be making a move for Brodin since we are overflowing with LHD and prospects but the trade definitely favours the Habs by quite a bit.

The penguins don't need another AHL level defenseman.
