Pavelski and Kane are not reasonable camparisons for any deals, both took heavily discounted deals to sign on to chance the cup and both are older and have higher risk of regression or injury, plus both have bonuses set up that will pay them close to double their base salary FYI

The Burroughs for Holl deal would be a no from me.
at the beginning of the season I’d say yes but Holl has regressed big time and even if Burroughs does we can bury him in the AHL with no cap implications.

Plus sharks are undoubtedly on his 10 team no trade list (bad team in a high tax bracket)

Don't think you're gonna get Berggren to sign for $925K after they've ****ed him around all year.

Gotta compensate him a bit for that.

I don't think Pavelski took a discount to sign his first deal with Dallas. 7M x 3 Years was a pretty decent cap hit for him.

Don't think Hawks are interested in Fabbri. It depends what they plan to do with Taylor Raddysh. But with Athanasiou back from injury and Taylor Hall coming back next year from his knee injury that's as if they got 2 new players. Theres the emergence of Kurashev and Reichel will get another middle 6 opportunity to succeed. Foligno and Dickinson were resigned already. They could consider it but there are possibly better options and they may want someone a little more potent for Bedard.

I was thinking with Benning, Emberson, Rutta and Addison, he could be expendable. Holl is basically just a money dump. Good chance on the list, but never know. Really don't speculate too much into those unless they are full no trade clauses.

It's why I've only signed him to one year deal.

Dumping the contracts will take some maneuvering for sure. Don't mind any of the targets but Kane seems too long. His skating isnt great 3 more years I just can't see it.

Calgary has no need for Maatta. If Calgary trades for a defenseman it'll be either a top 4 or a young player with good potential not a 30 year old pending UFA which is what Maatta will be next season.

Nah I get the one year, I just don't think he signs a one year for that little. Shouldn't have been in the AHL this year and ends up getting ****ed with an AHL salary.

I'm not saying he's gonna get $3M or $4M or anything crazy. I just wouldn't be surprised if he ends up in the $1.5M range.

Definitely not ideal but I could see him wanting to get a bit of term. Trying to be a bit realistic with the signings.

If the Hawks need to take on another contract to reach the cap floor, I wouldn’t be opposed to Fabbri, he is talented but has a difficult time staying healthy. I would probably want a little better pick for assisting Detroit with the cap, say a 4th round pick.

With Pokey a big part of the reason he ended up in Dallas was the 3rd year being pretty much a non-starter for the Sharks for a guy who would be 35 before the season started and Kane will turn 36 about a month into the season next year, has bad injury history, and counts as a 35+ deal (If Pav turned 35 about 1.5 weeks earlier it would've been considered a 35+ deal). I'd be surprised if Kane gets a 3 year offer but I could be wrong.

I'm hoping he gets a two year deal, that would be ideal as far as I'm concerned. Less money would also be more ideal but who knows. The guy has made like $100M in his career so might take a bit of a pay cut.

100% thought that was a massive overpay, till he killed it.
