Red Wings are buying time for Cossa and Augustine.

I can't see them wanting 4 years of Jarry.

With RFA's Seider and Raymond needed to be re-signed and Kane more than likely re-signing the last thing they need is 5 mil Reilly Smith.

He's no Bryan Rust. 😁

Wings pass, you managed to trade them not 1, but 2 players and contracts they don't want

I did and its worse than this one. Detroit would be moving Holl for cap space and Armia has the same cap hit. Armia does have one season less than Holl on his contract, but that doesn't help because we need the space now not next season.

Actually Detroit would do Armia for Holl straight up in a heartbeat, but Montreal probably wouldn't. Buy Armia out. $300K less than Holl's buyout this year, $100K more next year, but only two years of buyout penalty vs. four with Holl.

Only way it would make sense for Montreal though is if they wanted to actually keep Holl or if Detroit wanted to add a sweetener, and I don't see either one happening.

I'm not so sure. What does he bring to the table that we don't already have? We really don't need another defensive forward. With Copp, Compher, Rasmussen, Veleno and Fischer, so there isn't a need for Armia. He turns 31 before the start of next season, he isn't a physical player and his $3.4M cap hit could end up costing take us out of the running for Roy. Detroit needs another good RHD that can take some of the load off of Seider.

I assume unless Yzerman somehow finds somebody to give an asset for Holl or take him for free (Doubtful) that he gets bought out. So if you could trade him for Armia straight up, you do it, just because Armia's a better buyout.
