Wow so generous to offer 2 of your worst defence as compensation for Marner lol.
I know we need defence but this is not the trade or even close!
I see those are pretty high drafts but TML does NOT need more undersize players in our farm system we have WAY too many already.

Actually, I wouldn't mind trading Marner if it got help the Leafs cap and improve the team.
But to blame the Leafs defence for 1st round loses, well that's not necessarily true. Half the teams in the league won't even have the pleasure of losing in the first round.

Haven’t given any thought to what Marner would return as a pending UFA, b/c I am 99.99% sure he isn’t moved . And if miracles occur and he agrees to waive his NMC, 99% sure Tre doesn’t move him in division. But if Tre did move him in division, 98.9% sure Leafs won’t accept “prospects” back - Matthews will have 4 years left on his deal so competitive window is wide open now, not later. In summary, not going to happen
