Avs Offseason No Landeskog

Created by: blakeywheels29
Team: 2024-25 Colorado Avalanche
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 26, 2024
Published: Mar. 26, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Pretty tight to the cap and there are some M-NTCs involved but this is the general idea of what I'd do. Carolina needs to rebuild its defense and Manson would be great there for how they play hockey.

Canes may very well be willing to part with Fast, but don't have room for Manson. Would need someone cheaper coming back

I like all these numbers, I was putting together a 24-25 team and had all these numbers, I like the idea of Manson being traded out to keep a younger walker, although I think Avs would need to get a Manson type replacement at a cheaper rate, Brendan Dillon/ dumba, zadorov, edmundson, kulikov, hakanpaa, whoever is left and would be willing to take a cheap 1 year contract

He's got 46 points so far this season and only needs 8 more to post his highest totals ever. He's actually playing some defense and his stats are up all over the board; his relatives are quite high and he's shooting the puck well and creating plays. Is that sustainable, especially on another team? Maybe not but he seems to have gotten his career back on track. I would think the Avs would like to have him back but probably can't afford him unless he takes a deep discount or they know Landy isn't returning. $4M for a top-six winger is more than fair, though.

I think hakanpaa would be solid. Cheap. I think 2 years would do it.

I'm thinking more like 3 million. Let's say drouins season is one hit wonder.

I think walker wants 5-5.5 million.

Your better off trading manson for some draft capital or at least a prospect.

Johnson should not resign. Sign hakanpaa and don't forget kovalenko and I'd resign kirivanta as 13th forward and if trenin can't be resign then put pavel as 4th line center

way too much money being spent on a 4th line here. we have 4, 1 mil and under contracts on the offense right now and you have 0, so right there it's not sustainable plus 0 money for any scratches for injury. Plus moving manson is a mistake in my opinion, he brings a lot more to this team than points and he will make his presence known even more in playoffs when physicality picks up even more.

I'd argure you might be able to replace manson with dillon but he's also older and slower so i don't think it owuld make sense, plus he's not coming any cheaper than 3 mil at a minimum. No point in any of the others, just downgrading from manson when we can get another puck mover at the deadline like walker again.

Drouin at $800k: awesome; Drouin at $4M: hmmm. I'm def a Kovalenko fan & I think he takes that spot anyways. Maybe JD goes back to MTL to fill the Monahan vacancy
