Nowhere near enough for Necas. Matheson doesn’t do much for the Canes considering at best he would only be a 3LD, and by the time Nikishin comes over, he would be scratched. If the Habs are wanting Necas, there is going to have to be some very uncomfortable conversations about one of Caufield or Suzuki. The only other way the Habs might interest the Canes enough to move Necas would revolve around the Habs 2024 1st and Slafkovsky. Either which way, it will hurt the Habs to give up. Canes can extend Necas, so unless there is a case made to trade him, he isn’t getting moved. That offer doesn’t force the Canes hand.
