I am in no way a fan of Buffalo nor do I watch their games (as most people dont lol) so if I missed a great rookie etc., my apologies.

If I became the GM this is what I would attempt to actually get into the playoffs

I suspect the Leafs turn that down. Jarnkrok has been very good and versatile for us. I assume it would need to be a 2nd for us to consider moving him. Other fans would probably disagree with me though.

Why are you trading Jack Quinn for that? That trade seems very silly to me from Buffalos perspective.

Im a die-hard leafs fan so not too sure about Quinn and figured his stats could get McBain and Bju to bolster the bottom 6. Jarnny is a fringe 2nd rounder at the deadline but in the off-season wouldn't command that.

Quinn is a really good player. Two bad injuries this year should be a 50-60 point player. Benson is already a full time player, UPL is a good goalie despite his awful game tonight they will I think will give him a bridge contract. No good UFA will ever play in Buffalo due to a cheap owner and unwillingness so they to rely on internal development.

That Quinn trade is one of the worst things I’ve very seen on this site…. Sorry, but it’s really that bad

And, @Irvine80, what you’ve done with our bottom6 forwards is just gross 🤮🤮🤮
I don’t like ONE move u made, dude

Sorry to be harsh, but it’s really bad

AZ trade doesnt work - AZ has a roster full of undersized skill W and very little C (and none that are physical players) this takes 2 pieces at weakest by far spot and adds to deepest by far spot.

Yes he is, Sabres are a Budget Team. They only use about 80 to 85% of there Cap most years.

That doesn’t mean he’s cheap
We have kids in the lineup on their ELCs and we aren’t gonna sign UFAs to the long contracts they demand with all the young talent we have coming

As usual, you’re way off here

Dude again you miss the cheapness part. Everyone knew the last few years the Sabres were rebuilding, they have had plenty of Cap space where they could have weaponized it. If you are building through the Draft, which the Sabres have been doing. Then they should have taken on Cap for picks and used them as assets. And we don't sign any good UFA's because they don't want to come hear because of a Owner not willing to do what it takes.

As usual, completely disagree

Taking on extra Cap for MILLIONS OF DOLLARS, so we can get extra draft picks that we DIDN’T NEED would’ve been a total financial waste
ESPECIALLY considering we ALREADY HAD the best prospect pool in hockey

We also- ALREADY- won’t be able to sign all the draft picks we’ve already made
So why should we spend more $$$ to bring in more guys we can’t sign???
That just doesn’t make sense & is frankly a pretty stupid idea

Why don't we need extra picks, it's not about just Drafting. It's not like picks aren't used in trades. And the more prospects the better chance of hitting on one. And how is it a financial waste if the money is just sitting there not being used.

Sure, the more the better
But it gets to a point of diminishing returns
U don’t know about most prospects for YEARS
And when u have too many draft picks, u can’t sign them all (NHL puts a limit on it)

U don’t go and buy 17 turkeys at Thanksgiving time just bc they’re on sale, correct ?
Bc you don’t have the space for them all & they won’t all get used
It’s a clunky analogy, but hopefully u get my point
Now, instead of the turkeys being on sale, imagine they’re millions of dollars worth of player salary that’s getting us picks we don’t have room to sign

There’s no point in doing it
And u just sound absurd trying to demand Legula spends those millions
AGAIN, there's 31 other teams u can go cheer for
Maybe pick one that does t upset you so much & you’ll be a bit happier???

Just a thought
bc your constant negative energy is obnoxious & does no good at all

And there's 31 other Teams in the NHL that do it and weaponize there Cap space. There's 32 teams in the NHL and 16 make the playoffs. Sabres haven't been better than 50% of the Teams in the NHL for over a decade, **** haven't been better than 90% draft wise. I will say what I feel about a Sh!tty run Organization.

No, there’s not 31 other teams who weaponize their Cap Space
That’s just factually incorrect

There are teams who do it when it makes sense
It doesn’t make sense for us at the moment though

And cool dude, stay miserable…. CONGRATS !
