What makes you think he worth that much? He had one good season that doubled his 2nd best in point production. He has fallen back to his regular production this season after a late start do to injury. Remove his best season and he is an.41ppg player that isn't physical and doesn't block a lot of shots.

One season and people think Montour is this great d-man, numbers say different.

I don't think he is worth it, but I also think that if he going to get 7 million at Toronto he might rather take like 5-6 at Florida. He is either going to be overpaid or get bargain AAV at Florida because no income tax and the beach.

This is why the cap hit should be after taxes to even the playing field they would need to adjust the overall cap amount. I still wouldn't want Montour though.
