If the blues trade buch it will most likely be for a prospect/pick package. Boeser is a good player but think the blues would rather just keep buch.

Meh.

Idea would be the blues get a guy that is 2yrs younger that might fit in as a longer term piece with Thomas and Kyrou. Canucks get a bigger guy that is a better play driver.

Both teams can still flip the guy at the deadline if they don't like the fit or potential contract extension.

Unlikely trade but one that allows both teams to not take a step back while shaking it up a bit.

It's a definite step back for the Blues, and Buch is not one of the parts that needs to be shaken up.

Meh not really. Blues get slightly younger and Boeser has slightly outperformed Buch this season. Though Buch has been better the previous seasons. Different styles but not necessarily a step back.

Heh. Outlier career year, man. And he faces lesser competition than Buch, but still has as good a C to work with. And he's not as good defensively, which would be an issue. And he's still UFA after 24-25, so it doesn;t help that aspect, either.

Change for the sake of change is not the Blues game anymore. That was left back in the 80s and 90s. There's no real incentive to do this. If Buch does go, there would almost certainly be an element for improving the top 4 LDs in the foreseeable future.
