Blues get their longterm superstar
That Leafs trade is madness. I've noticed that it's always Leafs fans who offer the most ridiculous trades kek

Is Dvorsky ready next Year
He's still only 18 years old and probably hasn't even grown into his body yet. I am hoping the Blues let him develop in the AHL for at least most of the season.

No More Meatballs
I think Buch to BUF makes sense. I recommended Buch for Johnson and Savoie but people didn't like it. The Blues would want a high end defenseman prospect and a center I think.

I don't think the Blues are in a position to give up promising NHL stars for draft picks right now. Maybe if this were a couple years ago, but not now.

Why do people always re-sign Alexandrov in these projections? Hasn't he shown he is not an NHL caliber player?

Quietly the Worst Season Possible
The good news about this season is it that it really cleared up some things. For example, Kapanen, Vrana, Blais, and Alexandrov should not be on this team and perhaps not even in the NHL. Thomas is a legit 1C and Kyrou is a fine top line winger. We only complain on account of his contract which really isn't all that terrible especially if he improves just a bit. Bennington is a star. Buchnevich is money. Neighbors is everything we could have hoped for. The defense isn't all that bad. Hayes is the only player I'm lukewarm on. Given his low salary for us since PHL is paying half, it isn't terrible.
Army is going to have to trade for a 2C because I don't think Stephenson is the answer and there isn't anything else available. Also, I hope he can change Snuggerrud's mind. He really has a challenge this offseason which is why I don't like him working for team Canada.

They wouldn’t match an offer sheet on Brannstrom and honestly I would hope Pinto gets a bit more than that and they get him locked up for 8 years.</div></div>
I see. Well then, maybe the Blues should just offer Branstrom as a replacement for Scandella.

That's not true. According to this site it's closer to 2 million.

I would rather have the cap space than sign an aging vet to a big contract. Certainly there is a better opportunity coming.

Dvorsky
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheEarthmaster</b></div><div>I can't really get worked up about who is going to play 3C if there are literally no other significant roster changes being made besides just bringing in Snuggerud. If Armstrong insists on keeping (or is forced to keep) the team in neutral then you might as well just play Schenn there. You do what's best for Dvorsky's development at that point, because I think you'd be hard pressed to expect much more out of this roster than we've seen this year.
I also don't think that Bolduc, Dean and Snuggerud are going to play so well down the stretch this season as to make the Blues forgoe bringing in any forward help this summer. I don't think they can go into the season with all of those guys penciled in for a roster spot. Veterans are fine as long as they don't cost too much money for too long. That's what really makes Stephenson a non-starter for me.</div></div>
Army is going to have to make some trades this summer.

That is a reasonable offer for Buch. I think the Blues would seriously consider. NYR would be getting the better end of the deal since they are getting the best player in the deal, however.

STL core
I would just like to know how we can get a 2C now. I have been recommending Zegras to this forum but Blues fans don't seem to want him. I'm not sure who else is available that would fit into the Blues' plans though. As for Buch, based on the trades in this forum, it looks like the best move for the Blues is to hold on to him even considering his less than ideal age. If Vegas panics and offers up their entire future for him, I would take it though.

Whoever gets the best player in the trade wins the trade. Buch will most certainly be the best player in any trade. Add to that his fantastic contract with a year remaining, and you get a very high price tag.
