Is Snuggerud pulling an Adam Fox-- does he just not want to play for St Louis? Don't know too much abt the situation but it's not that often a top prospect goes back for his Junior year. Could also be a threat similar to Cooley.

Snuggy just wants to compete for a NCAA title again next year when Minnesota is expected to have a stronger roster. He said he’s committed to STL when he turns pro so there should be no worries!

Lindholm and Lohrei are the only two they will have next season. Grz is having a down year. I don't think Krug returns but its possible they add another LHD

When do they have to sign him by? It could become a more serious situation than we are giving it if they have to sign him by next year or something.

August of 2026....It's not serious. He'll be a Blue. Will you flip out if Ryan Leonard said he was going to go back to BC next year? Also very possible Snuggerud is pulling a Cooley and says he's going back and then in the summer changes his mind and turns pro.

Oh very much agree, I have no doubt he will be a blue. I was just trying to figure out when he needed to sign. And no Leonard could stay at BC or come to the show. Doubtful he stays at BC though. I would imagine that entire line signs their deals.

Yeah - I would imagine they all turn pro as well. I also thought Snuggerud would as of a day ago also though. Cooley did the same thing with Arizona last year also though so hoping he changes his mind in summer.

they might add. i think gryzelcyk is back. wotherspoon is already extended, so they have wotherspoon, lindholm, and lohrei. the other thing the bruins seemingly have is a limit on offensive d men on their roster. there is a 0.0% chance they trot out a blue line that has lohrei and krug on the left side. no shot.

Why in the world are you paying to dump Krug at 50% retention when you have more than 6.5m in cap space on the roster?

Simple solution here if he has to be off the roster, waive him. He's a better player than Perunovich and it's really not particularly close at the moment. Perfect world you either get something back for Krug at 50% or you find the ability to bump him down to the 3rd pairing with Kessel, and find a stop gap top 4 LD to play with Faulk.

I'm fine with him spending another year in the NCAA to develop. That extra year will go a long way towards developing his size and skill. We don't need him next year and ideally we can figure out what Bolduc and Dean are going to look like in the future, before we start fielding Snuggerud consistently. I won't be upset though if he decides to sign with the Blues this summer. I just think there is another element of his game that he can unlock in the NCAA before getting thrown in with men.

I'll agree to disagree...not many star players spend 3 years in college...

Fair, but coming into the league at 21 is not that odd. St. Louis is typically pretty reserved about rushing prospects, which sucks as a fan but is proabably beneficial to the player. I would much rather have this development path for Snuggerud than something akin to what Zach Benson is getting.

I guess. Benson was drafted year after Snuggerud and with learning experience this year, could be big time contributor next year though.

Yeah I understand what you are saying. Development is a tricky thing. I was more so saying that I thought Benson was thrown to the wolves. He has played well, but It always worries me about the long term development of the player. I'm trying to temper my expectations with Snuggerud, so that I am not dissapointed, but I think that next year we will see a very mature Snuggerud. Also this gives him a chance to play Frozen Four in St. Louis next year, which would be amazing.
