Friedman reporting they tried to acquire Lindholm from both Calgary and Vancouver, but wanted to make sure that he’d sign before they traded for him and that they would love to revisit it in the summer if he makes it to free agency. That isn’t enough proof of interest for you?
We had the cap issues and limited draft capital going against us plus a pretty clear incentive to wait until the Summer if you believed he’d make it there.
I get some Boston fans want to redeploy resources differently and things can change, but it is pretty clear that Boston is very interested in Lindholm.
Do they love him enough to give him a 7 year, 7.25M AAV? That’s a question we’ll soon find out
okay, well what you just did was you took one word that means one thing, substituted another word that means something completely different, and acted like this false equivalency somehow proved something. strange.
I'm well aware of what Friedman reported, I heard him say it. I have no reason to think it isn't true as he's the best in the business. I absolutely believe Boston has interest in the player. Interest is a very subjective term that when establishing market value can have a pretty wide range of outcomes. Interest could be, "hey Calgary, we'll give you a 7th rounder and Forbort for the player, and hey Elias, how does a 3x3 extension sound to you?" That's interest. Interest could also be, "we need this player long term, what does it take? we'll do it." I would think, "in love," with the player would fall closer to the latter category, and I have seen no reporting, or evidence of that. In fact, we've seen evidence to the contrary.
Just a weird weird take my man.
