Description

Buy out Norris while the cost is still just 1/3 of contract. Trade Chabot before his trade protection kicks in. Use first round pick to acquire a young RD who is stuck behind 2 Top4 RD on a cap-constrained team (eg Schneider in NYR and Korczak in Vegas). Larsson, Guenette, Crookshank, Rees and MacEwan as the call-ups. Leave some cap room for Chychrun and Greig contract extensions.

I totally agree that Chabot and Norris need to go, but the Rangers aren't moving Schneider.

You've offered San Jose....nothing. San Jose keeps the first rounder, and has 8m to spend rather than trading for Chabot.

Players have to agree to offer sheet. Maybe Staios changes things but that’ll take time - in the meantime, can’t see too many payers beating down the door to join the dumpster fire in Kanata

The difference between Scchneider and JBD is more than a late 1st. On top of that unless theres a corresponding move from NY then it objectively makes the team worse.

The SJ deal doesn't really make any sense for them either. Theyre the worst team in the league, they have no business accelerating theire rebuild with Chabot or giving up a projected 12th overall pick. Jarventie is a B prospect, the hope with Boucher is tha the can be a B prospect and Forsberg does nothing for them either. Flip side to the is Blackwood isn't the answer in net and Rutta is probably a 3RD.

Not convinced any of these moves are the right fit.
