Anaheim laugh and passes,Anaheim doesn't need LD. And sorry the #7 overall pick in this year's draft is nothing special. No reason to move Zegras for this offer.

Overpaying for Z … no 2nd from Habs or Harris, even then a better player will likely be available at 7

Rather keep the pick honestly. It's a solid line, but that pick has more potential to bang.

Likely we would draft a LW, and the future lineup would look like this:

2024 1st - Suzuki - Slaf
Caufield - Dach -Roy/Newhook

If we were to do that trade though, I think Dach (Maybe Newhook) would be the center. I don't see Z as a center

All fair. Thoughts on Tij Iginla? I'm a sucker for players whose dads are hall of famers.

Made a post about him today, I'm a big fan.

Seems to be a high-floor player with a very solid ceiling. IMO, he can definitely be a 40-goal, 85 pt guy, and likely becomes at minimum 60 pt, solid 2nd-line guy. What I love about him is his play driving and he is multi-dimensional as well.

Bad. Would be the worse pick in the top 10
- Celebrini
- Demidov
- Lindstrom
- Catton
- Eiserman

Then it’s close with Iginla Helenius MBN, I would take the last 2 over Iginla

Iginla lacks true skills, raw talent and isn’t good defensively
He’s got a lot of heart & grit, with a good scoring touch. Looking at stats doesn’t tell much, it’s like people are overrating Levshunov while underrating Zeev Buium

He's one of the better options imo.
I would still lean Catton for now, but I'd be very happy if we grab Iginla!

This would be a step back for MTL, get a true talent in the top 10. MTL lacks talented top 6 forwards, Iginla isn’t one. He might be a good complementary top 6 winger, but he »/ no Catton/Lindstrom/Eiserman

Just out of curiosity, what's the guarantee that the #7 pick won't turn out to be the next Lias Andersson?

That's why the accompanying player in a Zegras trade would have to be a more useful asset than a redundant bottom-4 LhD.

Cole Caufield better hurry up -- he has 3 games to record 6 points to equal Zegras' record through 200 games, and that's with Zegras playing 15 games (one for three whole shifts) this season injured.
