Doubt we will be lucky enough for Gaudreau to actually be traded, so just throwing out ideas as to potential returns if we did.

No need to be rude if you personally don't like the deal, just give altrnate thoughts on what packages might work.

Its fun to see a hometown boy go play for his team.
as for your trade... why make it big? try to make a one on one hockey trade as the good old days. big trades are harder to make and almost never happens. When I mean big trade, a trade with multiple impact guy on a same trade.

I think there are too many pieces moving each way in the deal. Too complicated and adds a bunch of uncertainty for both GMs making the deal.

Overall, it's not far off from some of the other ones that have been discussed with Gaudreau to PHI. Just harder to value with 5 assets for 6 assets.

I think including so many young-ish players who are highly thought of for their respective teams makes this trade difficult.

I'm legit curious to know what need you're looking to fill with this one? High skill forwards has been a big gap for us for a long time and I'm not sure this move helps us there.

Fair enough. This is the kind of feedback that is nice to read. Either way I have a feeling trade talk will heat up when Johnny gets off to another slow start. I think he would find it so much harder on him playing in Philly, but I can see why he wants to go back home.

Maybe I go for the big trades because I'm still spoiled by all those old school trades we made with TOR way back that included numerous players moving each way.

Frankly I'd be perfectly happy with a 1 for 1 Gaudreau for Simmonds deal if it could be worked out. Can't pay a guy 6.75mil for under 20 goals

I have already thrown my hat in the ring to trade JH and why - weal - only have 1 question - why trade him to PHI? We can trade him anywhere! Or are we (collectively) afraid of making him cry? Imagine what Vegas would pay for him?

Any trade involving Ivan Provorov will require someone named "McDavid" coming back to Philadelphia. If not, forget about it.

So what you're saying is that Provorov is AS GOOD OR BETTER than Connor McDavid?
Can't see Ivan changing the fortunes of an entire franchise.

I never made such a claim. You inferred incorrectly. Ivan Provorov is not moving from Philadelphia unless someone named McDavid is coming back

Why are you intent on trading Johnny Hockey? I don't follow the Flames, so I'm not judging - I'm genuinely curious.
