IF they took Holl and we got Trouba, then Trouba would be the #2RD and Petry would be the #3RD. I'd take Petry over Holl as a #3RD.

Honestly I generally just don’t notice Holl. He makes the occasional bonehead move that Petry is notorious for multiple times a game.

I'm pretty sure Petry finishes his career in Detroit. He has a cap hit of $2.3M

Petry's cap hit is lower and I'm pretty sure the reason Montreal had to retain on Petry was because they plan on letting him finish out his contract in Detroit. Which is flavor for his Dad.

That’s NOT what’s happening here

Trouba is replaced on pair2 by Schneider, not EJ
EJ replaces Schneider on pair 3, so that’s where the dropoff is
And NYR could easily just get a good RD3 instead of EJ

If they can get rid of Trouba, they should
He’s extremely overrated in his own end & his Cap hit really sucks
They could use that $8mil MUCH better

The Carolina game was the last straw for me. I really don’t care how they dump him this summer as long as he’s gone.
