Avs decline. If they were to trade Colton they wouldn't be wanting to take any salary back.

big time dubas strategy, going after heart and grit. Spends all these assets and cash on guys like Simmonds, ROR, Clifford, Lybushkin, Muzzin. Didnt work. Clearly a bad idea

But more importantly we would need to receive at least an additional second over a 3RDman that we don’t need. The price for Colton is a second plus. We paid a second for him and have shown he can play center making him more valuable.
I think we only need to trade him if Landy returns.

If they did it would have to better than this.

Wouldn't disagree with either of you there. I kind of took it as that went without saying......for once lol!

If you think you're going to get more value out of a 2nd round pick over a guy like Liljegren, that's nuts. You're basically getting a 24YO top 4 defensemen

Except he isn’t a top 4 dman on the Avs is he? He is a a guy that needs a contract immediately and what does he get the exact same as Colton? So COL is paying $4M-ish for a 3rd pairing guy. How does that help them? @tjtwolf is right COL isn’t trading a fix cost guy unless they are clearing cap, this doesn’t do it.

If liljegren is so valuable trade him to someone else who can use him correctly and send us the draft picks or a player that we can actually use on a cheap contract.
