If a team or two behind us won the lottery, this could be tempting. Otherwise, this could be a draft floor decision depending on who is still on the board, but it would have to be considered IMO.

If Im CLB, I don't do it. Johnson is gonna be a top 6 difference maker, and Boqvist (if he can get over his injury issues) can be a great top 4 D man. CLB already has a top 5 pick. They need to be moving forward, not backward.

The only way Jackets do this is if you take away Boqvist and Brindley, then KJ would have to make a trade request and/or refuse to sign an extension.

No way for the CBJ. You can have Boqvist for a bag of pucks, but the other two for a 1st? Nah.

I don’t care much for Boqvist. And I am always looking at the KJ trades assuming that there’s some bad blood with management

I don't care much for Boqvist. That said, given that the Habs compete window is not even open, if Cayden Lindstrom is still on the board, I'd draft him before making a 1:1 trade for KJ. Maybe CBJ's window is closer than ours.

There is no indication of bad blood. Just cause KJ was sent down, doesnt mean there was bad blood and all indications are that it helped him. He still needs to get stronger in order to realize his potential. Either way no way Habs would be getting these 3 pieces for their 1st. They could maybe get just KJ if he refused the extension/requested a trade and that was the best offer.
