In any Drai trade to Philly two things need to happen

1. Campbell's contract is dumped in the trade
2. Sanheim is going the other way

Other pieces such as 1-2 of TK/Farabee/Tippet/Forester will be added but those would be my 2 conditions on what a Drai to Philly trade would look like

OK, so if I were to add Campbell and Sanheim (whose cap hits would only be a net change of 1.25mm against your cap), who would you be OK to drop? Bonk? Adding in Campbell is huge and it seems like you guys are in win now as long as 97 is on your team.

Any Draisaitl trade that happens is definitely not gonna involve a multi-year cap dump and would likely have to include one of and likely both of future top-6 C and/or top-4 RD (Bonk covers this) coming back. I also very much doubt that EDM would make a Draisaitl trade that involves them adding to their cap. With that having been said, I don't know that PHI has the pieces EDM would be looking for.

Yeah essentially my thought process behind that, Bonk is a great piece but we are in win-now mode and still have Akey in the pipeline. Unless we are banking on Bonk immediately playing in the top-4 over the next 1-2 years it doesn't make sense for us. Also we have no interest in RR he's a cap dump at this point and would have to be paid to take him.

EDM: Drai, Campbell

PHI: Sanheim, Farabee, Cates (fits well in the middle 6), 24'1st seems fair in my mind but some Oiler fans may want more

I think Sanheim is a nice fit for us next to Nurse if we get to move out Campbell in the trade and find a suitor for Ceci somewhere else. He would bring stability to Nurse's game, the only issue is the cap hit but if Campbell's contract is gone I feel like it could work. If we can grab him + one of Farabee/TK/Forrester or Tippet in the deal then I think it fills holes we would need to be filled. (We would move Nuge back to 2C in this scenario)

I disagree. A.) I don't want to diminish the return from Drai (or McDavid in such a hypothetical) by attaching Campbell to him and B.) I don't see Sanheim as the solution that you seem to. I prioritize the addition of specific pieces to help the team extend and enhance its contention window in spite of losing a player of Drai's quality. I might be able to be convinced that a package including Bonk + Foerster + a 1st + another significant piece or two could be enough to part with Drai (assuming an extension is agreed upon), but I'm quite confident that there would be a more appealing package out there.

IMO I dont think oilers trade Dri.
I would say Cutter Gauthier would be a must in this deal hypothetically as well to even get oilers to listen. the other pieces are just ok and could get better else where.

Would be just pure stupidity to pay a fortune for player like Draisaitl right now. We're not a cup contender with him and this would just hurt the team in a long run. But like you said, this will never happen.
