Adding Acciari is fine, But he won’t cost more than a fourth round pick at that salary. If you must trade Jokiharju use him in a better deal.

You are not trading useful RHD for 4th liner. Acciari will be available for 3rd/4th round pick if you want him.

Bjugstad is fine as trade target, but this seems overpayment. I wonder what new owner will do with older players on the roster

Bjugstad sucks
He’s putting up numbers this year bc ARZ is playing him in the top6
As soon as he’s back to the 4th line, where he belongs, that production wil disappear
He’s Girgensons with a different name 🤮🤮🤮

For a 4C role that can kill penalties, chip in some offense, has size and playoff experience on affordable contract, Bjugstad isn't a bad option.

Forget Acciari - the guy the Sabres should put a full-court press on to wrestle free from Pittsburgh is Rust. With their aging core and odds they'll need to jettison some cap money to replenish their draft and prospect pool, the Sabres could afford to send a 1st and high prospect to add a pressure-performer with Cup pedigree and consistent output like Rust.

Nice outside the box thinking with Rust, But doesn’t he have a trade clause? That could prove to be an obstacle. Not to mention that’s a lot to pay for a guy who would end up technically on your third unit.

Peterka-Thompson-Tuch
Skinner-Cozens-Quinn
Benson-Krebs-Rust
Greenway-Girgensons-(ideally not Robinson)

You wouldn’t relegate a $9 million man in Skinner to the third line, So you really don’t have many other options. Can Krebs be the dish man that Casey Mittelstadt turned into?

I don’t agree at all
He only shows offense when he’s being piggy backed by guys like Keller- so u can forget about any offense coming from him as a 4C here
Like i said before, he’s basically just Girgensons
We should aim for a better player

These are both bad trades for BUF. Jugs sucks. The Acciari trade is an overpayment. Pit would move him for a 3rd or 4th. That's not asking much at all.

The penguins have no cap pressure after removing Guentzel.
There is 0 reason for them to ever trade Rust.

It depends on whether or not Dubas embarks on a rebuild - the Guentzel trade hinted such was coming and their prospect pool and draft picks are barren. Rust would have to decide if he insists staying in a Pittsburgh team that is just getting older and further away from contention just to stick with Crosby or if he'll accept a move elsewhere. Before this season's disappointment, Buffalo was being talked about very optimistically by players being quoted around the league - the theory is that maybe his familiarity and time with Karmanos and Ventura might hold any sway to join an up-and-coming team with a lot more offensive talent than the Penguins have at the moment.

Rust is definitely the kind of veteran leader and proven consistent producer both in regular season and playoffs that the Sabres are devoid of and need to turn their trajectory around. Whether he's 1st, 2nd or 3rd line, he's going to help the Sabres' roster. The Penguins will ask for a lot - likely a 1st and a top prospect like Kulich but it's time the Sabres bite the bullet and make that kind of investment if it brings in an impact forward like Rust who will make impacts in areas their other roster players haven't proven capable of yet.
