I like Graeme Clark. I don’t think he’s good enough to make the Bruins. What’s his waiver situation next year? If he’s not waiver exempt, that’s the wrong team acquiring him.

I don’t see why Arizona is not taking Geekie in that deal. Do they really need more mid round picks? My guess is the new ownership is going to be aggressive trading for pending free agents using draft capital

Ullmark for Holtz.

Remove everything else.

Boston is not trading Geekie for futures. Much rather have Kuntar than Clarke.

Does Holtz make sense for Ullmark or would you be better off with a 2025 first and a 2024 third? We have a couple of forwards that have shown in Providence they are ready for a second or third line role. I’m not sure.

Holtz eliminates bust risk of a draft pick but at same time blocks a roster spot from Lysell, Potsy, Merk. 25 draft is deeper than 24 as well, so who knows what Donny will and won’t consider.

I’m not completely convinced they move Ullmark. I will not be surprised if they move Sway for a better return and extend Linus. I will not be surprised if they keep both again, though that is the least likely outcome.

I don’t know if that’s a less likely outcome. I think they discussed Ullmark to fill an immediate spot this year, but with Hanifin signing … I think it might be less likely that they pursue two big names, (which IMO would have been the precursor to trade him).

They won’t extend both unless one takes significantly less than what they are worth and they won’t let Ullmark walk for nothing. They may not move one in the offseason but one will be gone by the deadline. If they wait til then they tie their hands even more. They also likely lose/trade Bussi if they don’t move one in offseason.

Carrying a third goaltender on a 23 man roster is not hard at all. It does mean that Ullmark would be their deadline acquisition with the foregone picks as the compensation. That isn’t a bad scenario.

My guess is they don’t trade Sway to an eastern team barring a proven forward being sent their way.
