1.
WPG
Future Considerations - Doesn't have to be to Montreal. Just any team who wants a useful, veteran 3rd pairing defenceman for $2.9m cap hit.
    MTL
    1. Schmidt, Nate ($2,975,000 retained)
    Additional Details:
instead of buying him out, the Jets pay an extra $75k in cap this year but free up 1.8m in 2025-26, and save like $700k in real salary.
    2.
    WPG
    1. 2024 2nd round pick (OTT)
    Additional Details:
Doesn't have to be Ottawa, can be any team looking to add a veteran middle of the lineup player to improve their depth. If he plays well in the playoffs, maybe we return a late 1st?
    OTT
    1. Iafallo, Alex ($1,000,000 retained)
    3.
    WPG
    1. Ristolainen, Rasmus ($2,550,000 retained)
    Additional Details:
Find a 3rd team to eat a Mil/year if you can to lower the cap hit even further.
    PHI
    1. Kupari, Rasmus
    2. 2024 2nd round pick (MTL)
    3. 2026 3rd round pick (WPG)
    Additional Details:
I get that Ristolainen has his warts, but Philly has said they're willing to retain, so if the cap hit is right, bringing back a cost-controlled RHD makes a lot of sense to me if I'm the Jets.
    4.
    NYI
    1. Ehlers, Nikolaj
    2. Lucius, Chaz
    3. Pionk, Neal
    4. 2024 2nd round pick (OTT)
    5. 2025 1st round pick (WPG)
    Additional Details:
Now, all of the moves I have made until this point have more-or-less built to this trade. This isn't even necessarily the assets that would need to go in this trade, but rather a framework to indicate the seriousness of the offer. As long as the Jets are keeping their core roster players, and Mcgroarty/Lambert/Barlow/Salomonsson, they should just put together a godfather offer for a Dobson-like RHD, whether or not that player is *actually* available.

Can’t see ottawa trading a 2nd when they can just sign Mantha or Zucker . Maybe a 3rd

That honestly isn't that bad of an offer for Dobson. Ehlers would be the 1st line winger this team has needed for years, Chaz is a really good prospect and Poink while obviously worse than Dobson isn't that bad of a player plus a 1st and 2nd. I wouldn't exactly hate it but I still rather have Noah

Not sure your catching Lou at a weak moment, I would be mighty choked if dobson escapes town if I was an isles fan, mighty impressed if jets secure him.

Even at 3m, Schmidt is still a cap dump. We wouldn’t ask for much tho, Kupari, Barron or a fourth will do it

Way, way too much for Ristolainen and the isles aren't trading Dobson unfortunately.

That's quite the haul for Dobson, but I think we'd be better off keeping him.
