San Jose would be dumb to give out multi year deals to middling players.

yeah i really don't get the 4 year deal to Foegele.

If you need cap to hit floor plenty of teams have guys on 1 year deals they want to move and would move them for next to nothing.
Pit would move Smith for that TB 3rd.
With all the high draft picks SJS has, it's not like late 3rd round picks are going to have much chance to rise up anyway.

Rutta was a part time player last time Chicago had him and he wasn't all that good back then. He's even worse now and WAY overpaid. There is zero chance Chicago would make this trade.

Hawks do need a vet 3rd pair RD, but not sure Rutta is the first choice. And definitely not for a 4th. I could see the Hawks giving up a 6th for him if they strike out on signing a RD in free agency.

I'd rather sign any bum RHD UFA than send a 4th for Rutta.

Hawks aren't giving up that high of a pick for someone like Ruuta.
