There's no incentive for any team to pay a 3rd for a cap dump. Montreal's cap dumps are no different than anyone else's. They cost assets to move, they don't return far better pieces than themselves.

Having a fluke career year playing more minutes than he should on a real bad team, doesn't change what he is. The same reasons you want to dump him are the same reasons no one wants him.

Armia at 1.75M would have some value. He’s a good defensive and PK bottom 6 winger and played at a 20 goal 30 point pace this year

Canes really don’t have much interest in LHD. For this next season, the Canes will either bring up Smith/Fensore for the 3LD spot, or sign a cheap 3LD stopgap until Nikishin comes over. Unless the Canes somehow manage to get Skjei to agree to a sweetheart deal for ridiculously cheap, they likely go for a middle aged veteran stopgap on a 1 year deal.
