Landy returns, but so does Drouin. Here's hoping he values fit over money and is willing to do a bridge deal.

I like Mason, but giving up a high 2nd for a 32 year old making 4.5 for a couple more years runs a high risk of regressing, plus we’re likely not in his list.

Why are the Avs giving up a 1st round pick to make what appears to be a lateral move in net with very marginal cap savings from the swap? That seems like change just for the sake of change with a very high cost.

I also think you should lower your expectations on the return for whoever you all choose as your cap dump. It won't be as bad as it was this past offseason with the cap finally going up, but a 2nd coming back for Manson at his current age and contract alone seems high. He does still have value though, so I don't think it is so dire that you'd need to attach picks to move him. With teams knowing that this is a cap dump, the value of the return will be depressed.

No to the Jarry deal. It's giving up assets for a lateral move at best. If SJ will do that and aren't on Manson's NTC list then pull the trigger. Could even drop the pick lower and I'd probably say it still works.

Man, outside of the 1st pairing that D corps would get caved-in grimace

Yeah not good on any front for COL, SJS is finally embracing the rebuild so that move makes no sense for them, and that d-corp woof that 3rd pairing. I really think Georgiev is just going to be traded though not for Jarry who can’t stay healthy, and no way Manson gets traded.

Yeah just used his trade out of Anaheim as a direct comparison. I would do it for a 3rd instead of a 2nd

Yeah I just can't see a way that everything else gets done and we keep both of Girard/Manson

Saw a deal similar to the Jarry deal with a 2nd instead of a 1st with no retention. We need something retained somehow. Maybe just add another mid pick instead?

I don't like Jarry's contract. He lost the starting job at the end of the season to Ned, who is a UFA. If PIT retains half then maybe you could trade a 2nd, but I don't think they would do that and I think you all have better options in net that don't require draft picks. If Landy comes back, you all almost certainly need to just grit your teeth and move out a contract.

Hence the Manson trade (or Girard)
