are we assuming the pick is 1OA here?
either way I don’t think it makes sense for either team. this would be delaying Ottawa’s rebuild before they even broke out of it, and accelerating Chicago’s before they’re ready.

Why not? Hawks need some grit and the pipe is bare. Ottawa gets a lottery ticket and we get a proven power forward that can also watch 98’s back

Kyle from Chicago probably doesn't do it. But I sure as hell would!

Maybe, and there is no guarantee that it is Celebrini. However, Sens would now have 3 firsts and 2 seconds. Not a bad way to accelerate things. Your point is fair though

Kyle Davidson has showed this far no willingness to switch gears from using picks to build through the draft. He of course will at some point , when he feels confident that he has his nucleus in place. Nothing against Tkachuk, but the Hawks are a lot further away from competing than what he can bring, so the timing is not right to pull the trigger on this type of trade right now.

Hawks don't do that if it's pick 1 or 2, OTT doesn't do it if its below pick 2

I think we switch gears summer of 2025. Team should naturally improve a little bit going into next year, but hawks need to secure one more high lotto pick. If we snag one of Celebrini, Demidov, or Lindstrom this June and then another top 5-7 pick next year I'll be very good about this core personally

As Tom Petty sang “the waiting is the hardest part”. Ultimately it all depends on how the players we’ve drafted develop. They all play like Vlasic , it will be sooner, they go like Reichel, it may be put off longer.
