I mean we just saw what they did with Diggs. Granato got fired before his extension even started. Based on Kevyn Adams press conference I think everything is on the table.

Yeah but the guys who are running the Bills know what they're doing.

Konecny is interesting, buchnevich would need an extension before I would consider that, like the demelo signing, don't like resigning Bryson, fine with moving jokiharju. Let zemgus go, it's time for somebody else. As far as Skinner, I can't imagine the Sabres would retain enough to just trade him, and with his nmc, he may just say no anyway. I'm fine with buying him out, I think the problem is less that pegula is cheap, and more that I think pegula was heavily involved with giving him the contract in the first place.

Skinner only saves you money for what 2yrs and then gets negative for a bunch. Just get past this year, his actual money owed drops to 7mill and then 5mill. Think Pegula would do 50% then when he's actually paying less than his Cap hit even at 50%. Hope he keeps scoring goals, think there will be Teams that would take him for 3.5mill and then 2.5mill the last 2 years.

It saves money all 3 years and then the negative money is 2.5M for the 3 years after that. You can see the payout structure if you look at the Long Term Outlook

Yes, I see that. But why take 3 extra years of Cap hit when you might not have to.

Gets you better players now. I'm dealing with 3 years from now 3 years from now. Skinner is also blocking prospects who cost less than 1M who might be just as good if not better than him already.

He could be, but we don't know that because they really haven't done anything with these prospects to see that. I am all for getting rid of him, but his Cap really isn't affecting this year from signing a good player or 2. There's other players that should hopefully be gone that where taking spots more than Skinner.

I agree. I think next summer he's more of a buyout candidate to make space for Quinn/Peterka/Byram to get extensions.

trade value aside, and not just this mock trade but others....but y'alls expectations for Konecny's next contract are absurdly low. If it's only $7m, it'll be because he gets the full 7 years. If it's that affordable and short, I'd rather the Flyers just re-sign him for a hometown discount.

Unprotected buffalo 1st would be cool but yeah if they loaded up like this roster I think there's no way of Sabre-ing away the season. So then that pick is late, and Samuelsson is a pretty big question mark considering the contract. I think Blues could do better.
