Why in the name of all that is holy would we give a 3C 8.5 million dollars? We're not the LA Kings!

(Sorry @OldNYIfan couldn't resist)

I don't exactly see where LaCombe fits in. Would love to have him. But unless he's a top pair defenseman already he doesn't really do anything that would change our course anytime soon. We're still locked in to Leddy and Krug for multiple years. Leddy has been relatively good since he's been here. Krug not so much. I guess maybe if we'd imagine that LaCombe is ready to play a top 4 role next to Justin Faulk.

The price isn't exorbitant by any means, I just am not exactly sure he is the caliber of player that we should be trading down for. I think it would be alot more beneficial for us to try and parlay our 2nds with the 1st to move up. But I also understand that possibly isn't an option either.

I actually think this is really well done. I am not too sure about the ST Louis trade but everything else here would be great. (7 years max for Roy, unless they trade for his rights).

2 years x 8.5m for Lindholm would be super interesting. He will help support McTavish, Carlsson and all their young guys a lot, without hampering their cap long term. I assume Lindholm would consider this contract as well. Maybe a 3rd year is needed.

I really like this top 9 and d group.

Lindholm isn't a 3C. And it's only 2 years. He would help support and shelter McTavish, Carlsson and all the young guys quite nicely. I think this would be a great signing for both parties. This doesn't hamper Anaheim long term and would really strengthen their team in the short term.

laugh Matt Roy isn't signing on a rebuilding Ducks team, Hometown Detroit gives him that and he actually takes home more money then high tax California. And you can only offer 7 years not 8 years. And Lindholm isn't signing for no 2 years either.

He's projecting to be a fine top 4 player, probably 2nd pair long term, but he's had lots of games where he's been eating up minutes on his offhand playing with Fowler. I would imagine he plays just fine alongside Faulk, he's young and can handle the minutes.
