I don't get the rush into the hire. There are plenty of candidates out there and will probably be more after the season. I understand the nostalgia with Ruff, but I don't think anyone else is going to offer him the head coaching job. Why rush?

NJ played terrible this year regardless of those 2 things. Even without Hughes or a goalie they are still a top 3 team in the Metro who finished what 5th? He couldn’t get anything out of the Devils I have no clue how anyone would think he would get anything out of Buffalo.

He had them at 112 points and in the 2nd round of the playoffs less than a year ago lol. Also keep Laughton, we have enough below average players as is

Ruff is a fine hire imo. Not necessarily who I wanted (Evason was being criminally underrated as a candidate imo) but I think he will at the very least bring some accountability and tough love to the team

Is it his fault that Timo Meier wasn’t the same player, Hischier decided to go from selke level to negative defensively, Mercer couldn’t crack 40pts, the tough minutes that Graves and Severson had went to 2 rookies and Colin Miller , Luke Hughes can’t play defence, Hamilton was hurt and goalies can’t stop beach balls

Just proves u don’t know anything about hockey and just look at stats lol. Ersson played amazing 90% of the season until he ran out of gas. Happened last year when the Phantoms rode him every game to try and get in the playoffs. Dude is a rookie and would have been in the Calder race if not for the last week of the season. Fedotov had never played in North America before his start lol. Our goaltending was unlucky not horrible. But I wouldn’t expect as casual to know the difference.

Ruff is a good coach. He could have had better teams, made more postseason appearances, and made a conference or Stanley Cup final during his first stint with the Sabres. The general manager at the time ran a bad operation and made many bad decisions. The Adams-Ruff tandem should do better than the Regier-Ruff tandem.

Ruff holds players accountable. If players do not score for stretches or take games off intentionally, they get benched and identified as available trade bait.

Ersson will be playing in the playoffs and winning before Buffalo will. Enjoy a useless coach and another decade of no playoffs. Try following badminton it’s probably more your style.
