Description
Loved Mitch in London but he simply cant handle the spotlight. Utah gives him the perfect fresh start

Gives Utah a true star to pair with Keller for their inaugural season. I imagine theyd be nasty together.

Because Mitch only has 1 year I doubt we could pull higher tier returns. I like Doan a lot and I think he could really help even out the skill gap.

Need a goalie too. Take a flyer on Gibson. Frankly this is more than Id want to pay but there arent any real good options so whatever

And it's more retention than Anaheim is interested in providing for a pick swap, and Gibson doesn't want to play in Toronto anyway, so much so to the point his agent put out a statement about how he wouldn't waive his NTC to go there.

You are correct however, the goalie market is a sellers market this year, and the UGA options are uninspiring.

It wouldnt end up being a rental. Hed probably be made the captain of Utah.

marner couldn't captain a juniors team.
He'd be a rental because the only people in the world who think paying Marner 11 mill per is a good idea are TOR fans.
While the return there might not be McDavid, don't act like another teams guys as if they have no value.
Nothing here to make AZ bite on that. Marner most likely walks at the end of the year, and AZ gets nothing out of it. They aren't pressed in a closing window or something to get caught on the wrong side of that bad trade.

Gibson is a below average (well below actually) with 3 x $6.4M ticket. No team wants him, least of all the Leafs. I wouldn’t take him for FC. He’s fine in Anaheim - they are a truly awful team right now and won’t be competitive for 3 years min anyway.
