Samuelsson needs a complete 2024-2025 season to prove himself to be in the Sabres' long term plans. Having an injury history in a short career to date is concerning. If I were the Sabres, I would acquire a defenseman similar to Samuelsson who makes Samuelsson expendable.

That's like saying you wouldn't want Devon Toews because of his contract. Weegar's cap hit for what he provides is great, it's just long
